Business Support and Services

What is Shell Step ?STEP New 2006.

Shell Step is designed to help SME’s by kick-starting and managing a project, which can be achieved within a realistic timescale at an affordable price and which at present maybe sitting on the 'back-burner'.

Shell Step recruits the UK’s brightest undergraduates and matches them with the specific needs of SME’s, introducing fresh ideas and new skills/technologies or processes into their businesses. The achievements for both the businesses and the graduates are amazing with results often initiating a real step change in their business.

An example of this was The Arthritic Association project, in 2008. The project was mapping a natural health program for arthritis with most information to this point being very fragmented. The Association was so pleased with results they were moved to write a letter of thanks to the student!

Shell Step helps identify and recruit the right undergraduate for the specific structured project(s); the timescale is 8 weeks during July/August at a cost to the company of £210 per week (with no tax or nic involvement). In addition, there may be a small administration fee of up to £250 per placement, per company. Projects range from IT/accountancy systems, design and implement web sites, ISO, H & S, design company literature, marketing, engineering/mechanical, environmental audits etc etc.  You identify the project, Shell Step will match those skills required to complete that project.
