Sussex Shell Step Statistics
Shell Step Sussex has recently celebrated it's 20th Anniversary, with the present Manager, Patsie Sutcliffe, having managed the scheme for the last 15 of those years. In that time, she has successfully placed over 550 penultimate year undergraduates from all over the UK into projects in Sussex. Many of these case histories have been featured in Shell Step brochures which are circulated nationally. In addition, since 2001 some 50 students have been placed with companies within the Innovation Centre itself.
Many Shell Step students have been offered a full time position with the companies where they completed their projects, after graduation and around 40% have been offered part-time positions before graduation.
Successes include; 2 students of the year, 2 best electronics in the UK, 1 best IT in the UK, together with 3 special commendations in the UK finals.
This year, Patsie expects to place 50 students into companies throughout Sussex.
