"The process of transforming a new technology into an innovative range of products is a complex task requiring many different skills to be brought together. The Enterprise Panel has given us access to a broad range of support, both skills based and financially, that has helped us ensure EPS technology will be commercially adopted in future."
Professor Robert Prance – University of Sussex

Electro Potential Sensors
Securing commercial adoption and value in a revolutionary new platform sensor technology required more than just publication and an extensive IP protection strategy. Through support of the Enterprise Panel the Sussex Innovation Centre provided hands-on support to clarify key applications, construct application specific marketing collateral and instigate a focussed strategy to build awareness. With further support from the Centre a valuable license has now been secured with Plessey Semiconductors to develop, market and sell the sensors. Commercial interest is high, several industry awards have been won, and strong sales across a diverse range of applications are expected.

TradeSift - Interanalysis
When three academics from Economics decided to develop and commercialise software designed to simplify international trade policy choices, finding financial, reputational and business support was key to success. The Enterprise Panel was able to provide finance to develop a commercial software product, University involvement to add reputational value and access to the Sussex Innovation Centre team to develop and support an ambitious business plan. A jointly owned spin-out company was formed, work for the Department for International Development (DFID) secured and the TradeSift product and supporting training courses are now actively supporting better trade policy decisions, especially across the developing world.
