Matthew Yeager joins Be Street Smart as CTO

Be Street Smart, the disruptive property platform that aims to be 'the Uber of buying and letting', has announced that veteran CTO and start-up advisor Matthew Yeager is joining their growing management team, with a remit to design, build and execute the mobile and cloud technologies required to bring the young company's customer-centric vision to the market.

Be Street Smart was founded in 2015 to offer an alternative way for people to buy, sell, let and rent property. The company will revolutionise the estate agency sector by focussing on making the process work the way that customers want, giving amazing service and drastically reducing the fees that are currently paid to agents.

The start-up was last week accepted onto Microsoft's BizSpark programme, which provides free Azure cloud services, software and training to help start-ups accelerate their growth.

"I'm a customer-centric technologist and have joined the Be Street Smart team as I'm genuinely excited with their vision," said Mr Yeager. We want to fundamentally change the way in which people engage with property, by using technology to evolve traditional relationships."

Mr Yeager has acted in an advisory capacity for UK, Israeli and US-based start-ups, and has been both a judge and a mentor for the world's largest start-up accelerator, MassChallenge. He was an early advocate for cross-platform, cross-infrastructure APIs in previous roles as CTO for Colt Enterprise Services and Data Practice Leader at Computacenter. Seeing the early advantage of mobile-backed cloud services, he focussed on developing customer engagement and improving customer experience at both leading infrastructure providers.

His experience at Colt led him to join EMC, where he helped develop cloud-based editions of the company's lead product, while continuing to hone his customer experience insight within the R&D department, and participating in programmes at MIT and UC Berkeley, among others.

"Matthew brings vast experience and complimentary skills to our management team," said Alex Sullivan, Co-founder and CEO of Be Street Smart. "We're excited to work with him, not just due to his enormous technical knowhow and previous work with successful start-ups, but also his track record of putting great customer experiences at the centre of everything he does."
