Heatcatcher’s installation of a waste heat to power system at Thrislington lime plant has been nominated as a finalist for the IMA-Europe Recognition Award, which celebrates projects that further the image or innovation of the minerals industry.

The awards were handed out last month in a ceremony at the IMA-Europe headquarters in Brussels, and were attended by 130 delegates from the global industrial minerals industry, EU and government officials, NGOs and other stakeholders.

Heatcatcher were recognised for their efforts to make efficient waste heat to power conversion an industry standard for European lime and cement production, with the Thrislington project joining five other candidates that were recognised for their high degree of impact upon the innovation and sustainability of the sector.

This year saw IMA-Europe celebrate its 20th anniversary. The body represents the interests of around 500 mineral companies or groups, which operate more than 700 mines and quarries, and 750 plants throughout the continent.

Heatcatcher design, build and operate waste heat systems primarily for power stations.
