Disability Awareness Training for Employers

The Disability Confident Action Group will be holding Disability Awareness Training for Employment. It is designed for employers and staff that wish to know more about the benefits of employing people with disabilities and how to retain them.
The training will include:- What is a disability, a case study from an employer on the benefits of employing someone with a disability, models of disability, hidden impairments, communication, understanding autism, mental health, sensory impairment, what are reasonable adjustments, what services are available for employees and employers and how to become Disability Confident. Over half the presenters have a disability themselves. You will also have the opportunity to become Disability Confident and talk to the DWP about gaining accreditation.
The training is a collaboration of presenters from Croydon Council, Mind, Status Employment, Millwood, Croydon People First and the Department for Work and Pensions.
