Facilities, Community and Administrative Support
Start-up members at Sussex Innovation get a lot more than just a serviced office or hot-desk. Our facilities team delivers professional meeting and conference rooms, high-speed internet access, phone lines and security. We maintain a permanent reception team to look after your guests, handle incoming calls and mail. And best of all, our community managers bring award-winning customer service to ensure that you're plugged in to all the wider benefits that come with being part of our network - through events, introductions and promotional opportunities.
Our Community & Facilities Team
Claire Pasquill - Brighton Centre Director
Claire responds to the needs of the community of ambitious, growing businesses in our Brighton workspace. Whether you're a start-up just at the beginning of your journey, or a scale-up looking to build your leadership team, Claire will help you identify your most pressing needs and come up with ways to approach and work through them.
Having previously worked as Managing Director for an events company, Claire has masses of experience growing a business that she now uses to help others do the same. She ensures that our team deliver your work efficiently, learning from our entrepreneurs' feedback and making improvements where necessary. Her favourite thing about working at Sussex Innovation is the can-do attitude of her team mates that ensures problems can always be solved.
Outside of the office, you'll usually find Claire dancing or watching a moody foreign art-film.
Daisy Wood - Croydon Centre Manager
Daisy is responsible for looking after all the needs of our community - she helps to onboard our new members, understands their needs, makes introductions and organises social events. Starting in 2020, she's been on hand to organise our programme of Survive & Thrive webinars, sourcing speakers with valuable insights and inspiring stories to share, and hosting many of the sessions.
Daisy is the friendly face who knows everything and everyone in our community. Outside of the office, she enjoys gigs and festivals, reading and finding out more about people over a drink.
Helen Northeast - Facilities Manager
Helen looks after the buildings and space here at Sussex Innovation, literally ensuring that nothing falls apart. She makes sure that health and safety measures are all in place and being followed, and books in repairs and contractors when needed. She'll also oversee decoration when one of our rooms needs a facelift!
Helen's favourite thing about working here is the people - she finds that being able to chat with everyone throughout the day really builds up a sense of community. Outside of work she enjoys photography and is a keen gardener with an allotment full of vegetables.
Kate Langhorne - Croydon Receptionist
Kate is the face of our Croydon reception and her efficient admin skills help keep everything running smoothly. She's a trusted member of our team who often acts as a virtual assistant liaising between offices, and you can always rely on her to find you a free meeting room.
Prior to joining us at Sussex Innovation, Kate worked in a local fish and chip shop; she also enjoys fishing and has won a fair few competitions in her time!
Sam Beard - Falmer Receptionist
Sam is most likely the first friendly face you'll see when visiting the Sussex Innovation Centre. He ensures things are running smoothly, whether dealing with post, booking meeting rooms or relaying information to the right people, Sam's always happy to help in any way he can.
Outside of the office Sam is a big cinema fan; he studied Film at the University of Sussex and particularly enjoys Russian arthouse movies. His favourite thing about working at Sussex Innovation is interacting with all the driven people who have a real passion for what they're doing. He also appreciates every day being a little bit different, which certainly keeps things interesting!
Proud winners of the Award for Best Customer Service
"On a daily basis, Daisy and Sam on reception are of huge benefit to us, just managing the front end of the business, organising access to meeting space and whatever else we need."
Graeme Cox - co-founder, Emteq
"The level of support you get with the office if you need to move, or if something goes wrong - you just don't have to think about it. It takes all the worry and stresses away on that level."
