Last week, Ambiental's Managing Director, Dr Justin Butler, spoke to Sky News about how to better anticipate and protect communities against the risk of flooding:
Earlier in the month, Ambiental hosted an event for insurers and reinsurers, ahead of the launch of the government's new Flood Re initiative. It is hoped that the new initiative will help to provide more comprehensive home insurance cover for residential properties at risk of flooding.
Speakers at the event included Michael Wade (former Crown Representative for Insurance at the Cabinet Office), Aidan Kerr (Director of Operations for Flood Re), Chris Chambers (Senior Product Manager for Ordnance Survey) and Ambiental's Dr Justin Butler. Dr Butler described the recurring phenomenon of extreme flooding events as the 'new normal', demonstrating how, by accurately estimating the depth and extent of flood events, Ambiental is able to help its clients reliably predict loss estimates.
