A distribution deal has been announced between Feedback plc and China's Boya Digital Technology for TexRAD medical imaging software, originally developed at the University of Sussex with commercialisation support from Sussex Innovation Centre.
Feedback - the PLC who bought the software and are now responsible for its distribution - reported that their subsidisers Cambridge Computed Imaging signed a deal with Boya last month, and that subsequently TexRAD, used for research purposes and analysis of medical diagnostic images such as CT and MRI scans, will be sold in the People’s Republic of China.
Feedback bought the TexRAD software in 2014, and at the time, Chief Executive, Nick Shepheard said: “TexRAD and CCI have made great strides in developing the business from original research at the University."
The company describes the Boya deal as a "signifcant step", and Dr Balaji Ganeshan - chief executive of TexRAD Ltd and director of new business at Feedback - said: "We are delighted to have formalised the business relationship with both Boya and GE. This follows discussions at the Beijing Society of Radiology in 2016 and involvement in the installation of TexRAD software in a leading medical institution, Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Beijing."
