Ecommerce promotions engine Uniqodo has launched Local Support Vouchers, a new initiative designed to help the UK’s much-loved local cafes, restaurants and shops stay afloat through the Covid-19 crisis.

Local Support Vouchers is a simple platform that enables small businesses to sell unique vouchers to their most loyal customers, meaning that they can provide immediate financial support to the businesses they love and local businesses can continue to thrive. Customers can purchase gift vouchers for family or friends, or gift them to local NHS workers, to be redeemed when high street venues can reopen their doors.

The vouchers are issued to users digitally, taking advantage of Uniqodo’s system for providing unique voucher codes.

“Our team and I were keen to use our resources and technological capabilities to give something back to the retail and hospitality sector throughout this crisis,” said founder and CEO, Chris Giddins. “We know that many members of the public want to do everything they can to help their favourite local businesses survive, just as we do. With the Local Support Vouchers platform, our mission is to put as much control as possible in the hands of these businesses, giving them the opportunity to call upon the communities that they serve to help them out in their time of need.”

Businesses can sign up via the Local Support Vouchers website, with members of the public able to purchase vouchers, make NHS donations using the #PayItForward button, and nominate businesses not yet on the platform that they would like to support.

Uniqodo is a Software-as-a-Service platform and website plugin that retailers use to add advanced promotional code features to their eCommerce store.
